1. First of all, the green beans have to be sliced. Cut them lengthwise. We will need to keep the stock. Stock is the water that the green beans have been cooked in.

2. Next, we will need to boil the salted water. After that, cook the beans in the boiling salted water. We do so until the beans has been tender. Reserve one quarter cup of the cooking liquid and drain off the rest.
